BlowBy Agings Elastomers Plastics

Elastomers are essential for many industrial applications, including systems that encounter blow-by gases. These gases, usually byproducts of combustion in an internal combustion engine, can contain a variety of components, including unburned hydrocarbons, moisture and other aggressive substances.

To determine the resistance of elastomers, as well as plastics, to these by-products, we produce synthetic BlowBy using a wide variety of formulations.

Finally, the elastomers or thermoplastics are exposed to this synthetically produced mixture under defined conditions in accordance with the relevant standards in order to determine their resistance to test BlowBy.
